In this role you will develop and implement a multi-pronged city/regional plan of action (POA) with the goal of reducing HIV transmission by making HIV testing a routine part of medical care; reducing the estimated 21% of people living with HIV but unaware of their status; decreasing the number of people who are being diagnosed late in the course of the disease; and linking newly diagnosed individuals to care. |
| Essential Duties and Job Functions: | You will be expected to develop an open dialogue and create action oriented partnerships with influential community leaders, providers, policymakers and stakeholders in support of routine HIV testing and linkage to care. Other responsibilities include: * Generate input and ultimately buy-in from all relevant parties necessary to operationalize the specific POA * Assess political and policy environment in regard to HIV/AIDS testing and prevention efforts * Develop and maintain strategic network of relationships in the city to help inform and guide local strategy * Manage performance based POA to strict timeline/deliverables with a heavy emphasis on program evaluation. * Drive an execution focused agenda based on best practices and current HIV/AIDS epidemiological data * Perform all administrative functions required of the position, including reporting metrics and contacts, etc. * Establish strong working links with other relevant Gilead departments * Ensure compliance by interface with Legal |
| Knowledge, Experience and Skills: | * BA or BS degree or equivalent, preferably in the sciences, public health or public health policy -Advanced degree preferred * 10 -12 years of relevant experience in health-care industry or related policy field * Proven experience in developing strategic and tactical plans, with demonstrated expertise in rigorous execution * Grant and/or contract management experience is preferred * Possess the business acumen and professionalism required to gain the respect of broad cross-section of community, medical and policy stakeholders * Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external cross-functional teams * Superior communications skills with an executive presence |
