Clariant is currently looking for two Production Group Leaders to support the Adsorbents and Additives business unit in Quincy, FL. The Production Group Leaders will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing processes and the efficient use of resources within the production team. They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the production team to meet production targets, maintain quality standards, and ensure a safe working environment. They will also provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members while coordinating workflow and resolving any issues that may arise during production. This is a full time, onsite opportunity based in Quincy, FL.


Responsibilities

•    Work rotating shifts and weekends, acting as leading authority on the evening (3PM to 11 PM) and midnight shifts (11PM to 7AM)
•    Lead and motivate a team of 10 – 15 production employees to achieve production goals and meet quality standards 
•    Direct and assign work to successfully execute production plans in alignment with ESHA and quality standards
•    Create and revise standard operating procedures, work instructions, and other documents in the document control system 
•    Document new task training and conduct competency testing for all direct reports
•    Complete Lean Six Sigma training to achieve Green Belt certification
•    Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members to enhance skills and productivity
•    Lead and support Yellow Belt and 5S events
•    Enter work notifications in SAP and train lead operators on how to enter work notifications in SAP
•    Work with maintenance to achieve 100% compliance for daily work schedule
•    Implement changes to increase the percentage of Utilized Equipment Effectiveness (UEE) of critical equipment
•    Work with other team members to continuously improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and increase delivery / goods issue reliability 
•    Complete GEMBA walks and MSHA workplace inspections in production work areas 
•    Enter near misses, safety deviations, or other incident types in lntelex and Dakota to ensure environmental and safety compliance
•    Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformances, taking corrective measures to address them
•    Serve as a liaison between production team members and management, communicating production goals, expectations, and performance metrics
•    Collaborate with other departments to resolve production-related issues, coordinate maintenance activities, and facilitate cross-functional teamwork
•    Address any concerns or grievances raised by team members promptly and effectively
 


 

Requirements

•    Associates of Applied Science in Manufacturing Technology or a related field – willing to accept years of work experience in lieu of degree
•    Certification in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies, preferred
•    Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
•    Strong knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety regulations
•    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
•    Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities
•    SAP experience is a plus
•    Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and manufacturing software systems
